Past Conferences

The inaugural SEC Communicators Association Conference was held at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., June 8-10, 2008. Conference organizer Tysen Kendig, Associate Vice Chancellor for University Relations, credited the conference’s success to the energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and sense of humor of conference participants. The conference resulted in a robust Listserv that helped participants stay in touch after they returned home. Another positive outcome was the launch of an SEC Communicators Association presence on Facebook.

The most recent SEC Communicators Association Conference was held at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., June 14-16, 2015. Mike Clardy, Interim Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing, welcomed conference participants to three days of lively sessions on topics such as Title IX, digital publishing and NCAA halftime commercials.

Vanderbilt University hosted the conference in 2009; Texas A&M hosted in 2013.
